Other Water Organizations
The niche of Living Waters for the World in addressing the world's water crisis is the treatment of a community's available, but contaminated water source, using a small-scale batch water system located in an institutional setting.

However, there are many other organizations that address other areas of this crisis, such as the digging of wells and the laying of water pipeline. Living Waters for the World is pleased to publicize the work of these worthy organizations, in the hope that together we can improve the quality of life of millions of God's children. Some organizations are listed here, with a brief description of their missions.

To list your water organization, please contact us.  We also appreciate your adding Living Waters for the World to any crosslinks you maintain.

The Healing Waters International Concept: Four Keys to Sustainability:

Use a local church to manage the system

  • Provide clean water at a very affordable price
  • Create demand by offering a very good product
  • Offer water free to a local school

The cost of sponsoring a complete system ranges from $24,000 to $36,000, depending on the country. Current sponsorship prices are Guatemala, $24,000; Mexico $24,000; and Dominican Republic, $36,000.
Sponsoring a system covers the cost of building a water system capable of purifying at least 5,000 gallons per day (10,000 people), depending on the amount of raw water and electricity that is available. Systems utilize a variety of technologies based on the condition of the raw water. Healing Waters systems have utilized the following technologies: sand filtration, carbon filtration, softening, reverse osmosis, ozone or chlorine disinfection, and ultraviolet light.
Installed systems are self-sufficient, no on-going commitment required by sponsor.

Potters for Peace
Bizbee, AZ

Water Filter projects:  Potters for Peace (PFP) does not own or manage water filter manufacturing facilities but offers technical know-how in filter making to a local sponsoring organization. They will typically read about the clay filters on the internet or hear about them at a conference and then get in touch with PFP. A process then begins of evaluating the practicality of a new project. This is done utilizing the Project Guidelines available on our website.  The base for PFP’s pottery activity is Nicaragua with occasional involvement in neighboring countries. We may work elsewhere by request and after an assessment by director or coordinator and if a consultant or volunteer is available.

Working in close relationship with our trusted partner organizations, Thirst Relief expanded our Amazon and Zambia water projects, and started new water projects in Mexico, India, Tanzania, and Kenya. By raising even a small donation, CKI members can help save a child by helping them get the rehydrating salts they need to survive the diseases they often acquire through drinking contaminated waters. If CKI can raise US $500,000 over the years, UNICEF will be able to purchase ALL of the following:

  • 100,000 sachets of Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS)
  • 65,000 collapsible water containers for transporting and storing 10 liters of water
